After a scientific course, a passing trough Dramatic Art Conservatory of Nancy and a beginning as a caseworker, Jacques is turning to photography in 1981.
First, he specialized his photography into the medical environment.

Then he diversified to report largely humanist and mades several works about disability, the youth and education, rural workers life, environment and he works on regular basis with Femme Actuelle, Marie Claire, Femina, Figaro Magazine or National Geographic. In 2006 he participated to the report “Clichy sans cliché” with 11 other photographers including William Klein, Sarah Moon, Marc Riboud, Yann Arthus Bertrand and Jane Evelyn Atwood.

In parallel of his social topic reports, Jacques makes several commissions for clients as AXA, Tereos, Ferrero, Orange…

Jacques is also passionated by history for his motherland “Moselle” and focus his work on memory. In 2005 he published « Mineurs, les derniers seigneurs du charbon ».

Since 1998 he works on scars of the martyr land of Verdun, he published this year “Devant Verdun” 100 years after the battle which took place during the first world war.

He’s teaching at the European Cinema and audiovisual institute (Nancy 2) and at the National Art School of Nancy.
